I dreamt  I was an eagle
Full of sky, bright of eye
Sailing grandly over islands
Wherein my prey would lie.
But in the place of talons
Slender hands and fingers grew;
With paint and brush and ink and pen
I captured the world I knew.
So give me shore and pine tree,
Breath of wind
To fill our sails,
And you with me
An eagle be,
Artists and tellers of tales.
